BY-LAWS MARINETTE COUNTY ASSOCIATION FOR
BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY, INC.
ARTICLE I - GENERAL
Section 1.1 Organization
This organization, known as the MARINETTE COUNTY ASSOCIATION FOR BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY, INC., (Organization), shall be a non-profit, non-stock, private non-government entity.
Section 1.2 Purpose
The purpose of this Organization is to advance the prosperity of Marinette County so that its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper. All necessary means shall be given to the economic, tourism, commercial, industrial and educational interest of the area. The work of the Organization shall include:
A.
A central location for economic development information, with literature, list of available business and industrial sites.
B.
The retention and expansion of existing business and industry in the County.
C.
The recruitment of new business and industry in the County.
D.
Cooperation with other entities in the development of tourism industry.
E.
The establishment of financial aids for community development activities.
Section 1.3 Office Location and Area Served
The principal office of said Organization shall be in the City of Marinette, or at such other Marinette County Location as determined by the Board of Directors of the Organization.
The area to be served shall be all of Marinette County.
Section 1.4 Powers
The powers of the Organization shall be to conduct any and all such business transactions permitted of a organization of this type under the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and as outlined by its Board of Directors.
Section 1.5 Limitations of Methods
This Organization shall be non-profit, nonpartisan and nonsectarian and shall take no part on or lend its influence to the promotion of candidacy for office, nor shall any meeting of a political nature whatsoever be held within the premise occupied by or under control of the Organization. This provision shall in no way preclude the Organization from attempting to analyze legislation on all levels of government and to sponsor directly, or indirectly, legislation consistent with the purpose of the Organization. |
